Welcome to the Home Counties Area of the  Folk Dance and Song Group, a special interest section of The Camping and Caravanning Club. Our area covers Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, North London, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Suffolk.

There will often be some organised activities, such as an evening of song and dance with a live band drawn from those camping, or workshops where we learn new skills such as music or crafts. There may also be spontaneous things going on, like musicians gathering on the field to play some tunes, singers sharing songs or Morris Dancers bashing sticks. All activities are completely optional - many people simply enjoy camping in a very informal way on a field with friends (old and new).

Tents, caravans, motorcaravans are all welcome - occasionally our sites have toilets and showers, but usually they don't so please bring your own sanitation. We always have chemical toilet disposal facilities and a cold drinking water tap for you to fill up water containers. We camp on all sorts of sites - farms, playing fields, schools, village halls. If you have any particular needs or questions, just ask - many people use our Contact Us link or you can phone the contact phone number for a particular meet you've seen in our Programme or in a magazine advert.

You do not need to be a member of the folk group to camp with us, but must be a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club (this is a legal requirement as it is the club that allows us to run meets).
